On foot Pré de l’Ane par le coeur de la forêt

Opening

All year round.

Présentation

The route, zigzagging between two cliffs, leads gradually up into the heart of the Grande Combe. The Pas de Siara gives a glimpse of the south-alpine lawns of the Trois Becs before a gentle descent into the beech forest.

The path winds through the lush Grande Combe, becoming increasingly narrower until it reaches the alpine pasture of Pré de l'Ane. You can make a return trip to the Pas de Siara for a glimpse of the sub-alpine meadows of the Trois Becs, where ewes from neighboring valleys graze in summer. 2nd return section of the loop: follow the signs for the Bois Vert sheepfold, where cattle may be present during the summer months. Next, a magnificent viewpoint at Porte de Barry (Bourdeaux and Drôme provençale), a wide, shady path towards Les Berches, then on to the refuge des Princes (possibility of a stopover and bivouac). Undergrowth trail leading to a meadow: view of Pas de l'Echelette and Pas du Fau (Roche Colombe). Return along the horse park fence to the eco-guards' office and adjoining parking lot.
