Cultural heritage Escalier des Cordeliers

Présentation

A staircase built according to the tradition by the Poitiers family: 124 steps of which 95 (and the handrail) were cut in the limestone ; it was renovated in 1856.

It was also known as the staircase of virtue, as people climbed, climbed and climbed towards the chapel... The staircase and handrail are carved directly into the rock, a shell limestone (fossils). This rocky ridge characterizes the town's history and can be seen from Divajeu.
