It is one of the gateways of the Natural Park of Vercors, from the cliffs and the gorges of Omblèze to the peaceful hills of Peylong. The Gervanne river, a tributary of the Drôme river, begins on the heights of the western massif of Vercors near the Col of the Battle. The valley is about 30 km long and is full of unusual places like the gorges of Omblèze or the waterfall of the Druise. The water from the Gervanne river has been long used for the industrial activities located in the Valley (Moulinages, moulins, papeteries...) because of its high quality. Today the valley is a rich and preserved environment for hikes and visitors.
