“Ayurveda is eternal because it has no beginning, it concerns eternal principles which are inherent and determined by nature” Extract from the Caraka samhitā Ayurveda, from Sanskrit Ayur - life and Veda - knowledge, is a wisdom that comes to us from the Himalayan mountains. This is the “knowledge of life” transmitted for millennia by wise men who, by meditating, were able to receive messages from Nature. It is based on simple principles such as the 5 elements: ether - air - fire - water - earth and considers the human being as an element of nature and therefore made up like it of these 5 elements. It’s about learning to (re)know your own nature, your imbalances and having accessible tools to regain balance and improve your health. Abhyanga massage is one of its tools. The origin of the word comes from the Sanskrit “Abhy”: now and “Anga”: to spread all over the body. It involves deeply nourishing the body by applying hot oil. It is applied with medicinal oils. It consists of a sequence of several techniques harmonizing, warming, detoxifying and energizing the body, followed by stretching which relieves tension. It brings deep relaxation and relaxation. The treatment ends with a head massage. The subtle energetic bodies are taken into account. Ayurveda is a holistic medicine, the mind and body are hardly separate. It’s a very deep enveloping treatment that provides a lot of grounding. Good to know: It is necessary that the last meal be at least 2 hours apart. If the body is in the digestion phase, the massage will not be as beneficial. Ideally, the frequency of this treatment adapts to the needs of each person (established during the assessment). Regularity is a guarantee of results in improving health and eliminating symptoms. I offer a treatment formula to encourage regularity in massages. The benefits are increased tenfold if this treatment is followed by a “swedana” steam bath: sweating allows toxins to be eliminated through the pores of the skin. Recommended for: It can be practiced as a daily lifestyle to relieve physical and mental tension and eliminate toxins from the body. Physical, mental, joint tensions. Dry skin. The benefits of abhyanga: Rebalance the 3 doshas or the 3 vital energies: vata, pitta and kapha. Pacifies and stabilizes the mind Eliminates toxins (ama) Balances the circulation of prana (vital energy) in the body Softens, nourishes the skin and body tissues. Prevents aging Eliminate fatigue Relieves joint problems Regulates metabolic functions
