Cultural heritage Chateau de Soyans

Présentation

The Château de Soyans is now a ruin. Perched on a hill, its surroundings offer a magnificent panorama of the surrounding countryside. Built in the 16th century, it was the site of the Wars of Religion, and successive looting gave it its current appearance.

"It's hard to imagine today, in front of this great rickety ruin, a magnificent Renaissance residence, with its U-shaped main building, terraces and gardens" Jean-Noël Couriol Today, the ramparts have been reinforced and the ruins partially stabilized, enabling a safe visit.
