Cultural heritage La Repara Auriples

Présentation

La Répara Auriples was born of the merger of 2 districts in 1992. It is located in the heart of the Grenette valley. The main feature of the village is that it is divided in 3 hamlets: le Péage, les Lombards and la Répara.

The 2 communes, already united in the Middle Ages, were owned by the Counts of Valentinois. During the 15th and 16th centuries, they passed into the hands of several feudal families and were separated during the 2nd half of the 16th century. At the time of the French Revolution, Auriples was ruled by the La Tour-Gouvernet family, and its parish was part of the diocese of Valence, while at La Répara, the Dumont family had been lords since 1727, and the parishes were part of the diocese of Die. The scenery is particularly admirable, with many fine views of the Roche Colombe, the 3 Crosses, Autichamp, the 3 Vernes and the Serre de la Justice. A number of monuments are worth a detour: the charming little Romanesque church of Les Lombards, partly dating from the 11th century and dedicated to St Loup, the fortified house of Combet, the wash-house in front of the town hall, the statue of Ste Anne (pilgrimage) or the fortified farm, La Recluse, with its 16th-century portal.
