On foot Saint Christophe et les Trois Bornes

Présentation

From the lively village of Saillans, with its narrow streets, arcades, fountains and turquoise-blue basins of the Rieussec, climb up to the chapel of Saint-Christophe. It faces the Trois Becs!

Start from the parking lot behind the Tourist Office. Take the road towards Véronne. After about 1 hour, you reach the Roury forest house. Go downhill to the left, continuing on the main track, which climbs fairly steadily. Follow the track to the crossroads, always following the main path. Pass through a bare area on the mountainside before reaching the small chapel. Retrace your steps, and at the "patte d'oie" (crow's foot) follow the path that climbs with the GR9 and mountain bike circuits 2,3,4. Reach the Col de la Tuilerie in 20-25 minutes, then climb to the Serre des 3 Bornes. Fast descent (beware of rough terrain). Three options for returning to Saillans. Variant126 A: take the GR9 down to the left through the pine woods. After 15-20 minutes, at the crossroads, leave the GR9 and descend on a wide track to a pine wood, then along the vineyards. Rejoin loop 125 on a stone path and follow it to Saillans. Option 126B: via Col de Sauzet (+25 minutes). Option 126C: via Col de Sauzet and Serre Peyplat (+1h).
